These revisions modernize the Association’s committee structure while providing greater flexibility to respond to changing priorities and volunteer availability.

These changes:

• Retain essential standing committees while allowing other needs to be addressed through committees, task forces or workgroups.
• Give the Board flexibility to establish, reorganize, suspend or dissolve committees as circumstances change outside of the listed essential standing committees.
• Permit the President to form short-term task forces and workgroups while clearly limiting their authority.
• Avoid requiring the appointment of unqualified or unwilling volunteers simply to fill vacancies.
• Clarify committee oversight, decision-making and accountability.
• Preserve options for written consent and virtual participation.

Overall, the revisions create a more practical, adaptable and volunteer-friendly governance structure while maintaining appropriate Board oversight.
